I recorded an interview with the good people at Trek.FM at the end of the December, for their Literary Treks podcast. You can hear me blather away and ramble on here.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] communicator for linking me to these terrific essays on Deep Space Nine by Abigail Nussbaum:

Back Through the Wormhole, Part 1

[livejournal.com profile] espresso_addict has been visiting the past couple of days, and in between the conversation and coffee-drinking (and bits of the house falling off), we took time to watch the DS9 finale, which she had not seen before.

It's been a while since I've watched any DS9. And OMG I love DS9! Even an episode which has far too much crammed into it! Even an episode which doesn't entirely make sense! OMG! Weyoun! The Founder! Kai Winn! Damar! Kira! OMG GARAK!

Most of the rendering on the side of the house has fallen off in the storm. Fortunately our next-door neighbour's land rover wasn't parked there at the time like it usually is. And it was about twenty years old, so it was probably time for it to be done. And it's nowhere near as bad as what happens to Cardassia Prime.

Obviously, it's only in my head that DS9 would win this BBC poll to discover 'the definitive Trek', but no way should it be lagging behind Voyager, fer chrissakes, so go and do your duty and remember - this matters!

I've been devouring the season 2 Babylon 5 DVDs and hugely enjoying them. Several things have struck me in the watching. More on B5 season 2 )

We watched 'Aftermath' and 'Powerplay' last night. More on B7 season 3 ) Question: what do people think 'Section Leader' equates to? Sergeant? Corporal? And why does the Federation put its troopers in rustling nylon? Unstealthy.

In discussion of B5 with Mr A., he said that he found the end of B5 a cop-out. Better endings for B5 and DS9 ) The end of B7 is, of course, perfection. What will Doctor Who deliver tonight...? *gnaws knuckles and checks the time*

I just bought a pile of Blake's 7 zines from a friend who is emigrating soon. Among them is a B7/DS9 zine (Seas of God by Sharon Eckman) which I'm enjoying. Lots of Garak, as there should be.

I perpetrated a B7/DS9 crossover once, but I don't think I posted it in many places. So here it is.

In other news, I think I have just managed to get rid of the headache that's been plaguing me since Saturday. Go me!
