P&C was in my local branch of Borders today - three copies of it!

No author should ever neglect the opportunity to graciously volunteer to autograph all copies of her/his book that are in stock.

Autographed copies cannot be returned to the publisher.

I agree that it should not be done on a self-help basis--the consent of some member of the bookstore staff is useful.
