Writing again

I've still been very run down all week from this virus. We got antibiotics on Wednesday and they're kicking in, but I still have very low energy levels. Done very little in the way of work, although did manage to write a short story called Fair Game.
Fair Game
I wrote this at the request of a couple of friends, and also because I wanted to try writing in the style of a classic children's book. It is set some time after the events in my story A Game of Chess, but it's possible it would stand alone. People go bird-watching and find their courage. There is conscious homage to Antonia Forest's Falconer's Lure.

I'll read the story soon when my visitorial flood has reduced to a trickle. Something else to look forward to.

I remember doing that with Antonia Forest's books, and other children's books when I've come at them in non-chronological order. By the way, is Leof (forgive lack of accent) supposed to be like Fob?
