Oh yes! The Callan novel I found online last week (Death and Bright Water) has just arrived!
James Mitchell wrote five novels based on his Seventies spies grim-fest Callan. I own two, got a third from the library (published recently, total disaster), and now I've got my mucky paws on this one (published 1974).
Had a quick flick through. Here is Callan's first appearance:
Callan looked down from the overpass.
*hearts* All it needs is a justice machine and it's Blake's 7.

Smear Job (1975)

Date: 2008-09-25 08:27 am (UTC)Yeah, I couldn't believe it either! James Mitchell died in 2002: I wonder if he felt the need to finish Callan's story? Don't kill yourself trying to find that one though- it's dreadful (I got it from the library). A Red File for Callan and Russian Roulette are pure Callan though. (Haven't finished Death and Bright Water yet, although it's already had a great Callan and Lonely scene.)
ZOMG!!! ARG!! ARG!! ARG!!
