altariel | The hazards of homeworking

I popped out to the post office about midday. It was absolutely freezing and I can't say I was devastated to get back into my nice warm study with my nice friendly computer. About an hour later was IM'ed by the SO: "Blizzard!"

I looked out of the window and, by gum, it was snowing. I kept an eye on it for an hour or two; it eased off and seemed to have started melting. The main road we're on was clear, as were the pavements.

The SO emailed about 4.30pm to say he was on his way home - they were worrying about the roads closing (his office is in the middle of nowhere). About ten minutes ago (so, about 6pm) he SMSed to say he'd been coming home for about an hour (it's a fifteen minute drive). Looked out of the window - it's bloody winter wonderland out there! The road is almost clogged up - just a track where the cars have been forcing through. Sauron's arm has grown long!!!

Anyway, I suppose this all means that I should try to either: 1. leave the house more or 2. at least open the curtains occasionally. Personally, I think both of these options are likely to end in tears. Or, at least, in me being snowed on.
