I didn't post anything yesterday about the announcement about the new Doctor. I am of course enchanted about Christopher Eccleston's appointment as Number Nine, and iainjcoleman's delight was so great that Cambridge suffered a power cut yesterday afternoon.

I think I must have been in another galaxy yesterday as I didn't know this. What a fascinating choice of actor. I must admit to having slightly mixed feelings about bringing back the Doctor, but I'm now a great deal more enthusiastic about the whole thing.

It hit a weird news time, I think: they were planning an announcement some time next week, but it got out early, and so they had to bring all the press stuff forward to Saturday morning.

I've grown more enthuasiastic as details of the production team have emerged, and even more so now the part has been cast.
