Lovely! I sent it along to kispexi2, who coincidentally asked Me and Anyone Else Interested which season of B7 she should buy as a birthday present for her mum. (I said that I agree with those who say S2 is the best season, but it's serialized enough for it to make sense to start with S1.)

Yes, I think that's the right way to do it. S1 has a lot that's good.

Zukalis is a genius. (Her -- think she's a she?-- Blake/Jenna vid The Ground Beneath Her Feet is one of the best B/J pieces out there.)

Ah! Thank you! My iP*d was funking out and not showing it. Really good vid. Jenna is ace.

If I ever go back into fanfic, B/J is likely to be why. There is not enough of it, and too many fans are down on Jenna, which baffles me. She's a tough professional competent grown-up woman, and sf needs more of those.

There are a lot of nifty women in B7. "The Keeper" is surprisingly feminist (despite itself, I suspect).

(Happy birthday, btw!)

We've been doing a re-watch, and I'd noticed that. I hadn't realised, think, how much we've back-slid since the late 70s/early 80s in that sense. The women are underused, and there are some dodgy costumes, but their professional competence is never questioned and their plots don't revolve mainly around love, relationships, being emotional etc etc -- which is a flaw in ST:TNG, Babylon 5, new Galactica, even Farscape (which is better than most) and very certainly in Nu-WHo and the dreggy depths that is Torchwood. B5 elides any woman who isn't slim and under 25, pretty much, too (aliens excepted -- Ivanova is a writer's self-insert, badly written and worse acted, uneven and, actually, a character who adds little to the show's core plot and concepts.). Torchwood and Who assume we're all screaming neurotic ninnies who derail at a glance from Him. Galactica and Farscape did better, but even they tended to end up with love triangles and pregnancies. Sigh. Backlash, alive and well in the heart of our sciffy.

That is awesome and thank you for finding it for us.

We may need to bookmark it as a unicorn chaser for the annual "Blake" synchrowatch. :-)

Ohhhh, that Right Said Fred. Before I clicked Play I had Vila dancing round on the inside of my eyeballs singing "I'm, too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts..."

But the world can always use more Bernard Cribbins. Thank you for cheering me up!

LOL! Glad you enjoyed!

(I don't suppose you'd be able to bunk off and come to a day of Return of the Ring?)

I wish I thought I'd feel up to it. Not really got the energy/motivation for anything fannish much at the moment, sad to say.

Many many hugs. Selfishly, I'd love you to be there because I haven't seen you in ages, but if you don't have the spoons, you don't have the spoons.

Thanks - I can use the hugs! Haven't seen anybody in ages, I feel like a hermit. And now car has blown up so what tattered remnants of social life remained are all to smithereens, sigh...

Oh, show! How do we love thee? Let us count the ways.

I saw it linked elsewhere and have been watching with glee. I should really get round to a rewatch some day.

All those "cups of tea". I love how the vidder managed to find a different clip for each repeat of the line. Tea and intergalactic terrorism, what could be better?

It was a British show. Drinking alcoholic beverages was *important* ;-)

Funnily enough I'm aware that it's a British show and of what they're drinking because: a) I'm British; b) I watched the original BBC broadcasts of the show in Britain; and c) I spent much of my 70s childhood sitting in dank "children's" rooms in the real ale pubs that my card-carrying member of CAMRA father insisted we vist.

I'm shallow enough to be pleased every time there's a funny noise, particularly when it coincides with someone getting boinked on the head.

Me too! Nothing like a bit of scenery collapsing on our heroes for cheering up the day.

I showed it to S last night and he chortled at the Central Control shot.
