An excellent choice! Perhaps we should email a copy to all the institutions participating in this week-long celebration of intolerant bigotry wholesome family vaules?
(I've never understood why marriage needs protecting anyway - if the two people involved really love each other and take their marital vows seriously, how can any outside force split them up? You have to WANT to cheat, it's not something you can be tricked into.)
Strikes me too that an institution which has the explicit backing of the leader of the world's only superpower is not in particular need of special protection.
I love the internal contradictions present in the whole business: in the eys of the people who support such nonsense, marriage is simultaneously both the natural state of mankind and yet so desperately fragile that even the slightest stress or temptation will rip the institution to shreds.
Not to mention the fact that everybody is supposed to love children, but around here there are signs posted on the playgrounds forbidding unrelated adults from entering--so presumably the only imaginable relation between child and adult is molestation.
