Yes indeedy, I have a new Doctor Who novel, The Way Through the Woods, due for publication on 28th April 2011. More about it here, including the cover. You can see a bigger version of that here.
It makes me think of 'Watch the wall my darling while the gentlemen go by', which is a completely different thing, but I grew up on where the Andreswald used to be, and the old wild woods and the smugglers are inextricably linked in my brain because there are so many reasons to be watching the wall instead.
Sounds very folklorish and Elvish (though you probably won't have to worry about pseudonymous TV Zone reviewers posting what happens in the climax all over the internet before the book comes out) - actually the makes me think of that Torchwood episode about the faerie... Small Worlds, I think it was called.
Which is a good sign, I liked that one (design of the CG creatures excepted)
So many of us in England never realise how old that wood, that copse, that little stand of trees up the hill behind us might be - or that the footpath through the middle of it might be a trackway that goes back to the Iron Age or further. (Remember the Green Lane in The Dark is Rising?)
Brrr. Had the alien world with dragon spaceships, now something ancient-English and woody and pagan. Fab.

Date: 2011-01-31 10:06 am (UTC)No, I've never written for the 9th Doctor. I did a short 10th Doctor and Donna piece, a crossover with Bujold's books.
