He's a really good writer. High hopes this one will *actually* get made!

Hm, wonder who they'll cast...

They're making it sound very definite, aren't they? And it'd seem surprising to have such a good writer spend time on the project, only to drop it.

A whole new generation of kids will be able to grow up hiding behind the sofa.

Casting... Hmm, we should organise a sweepstake.

Hope we get to see a McGann regeneration sequence...

It could be fantastic if they write and cast it well.

So Michael Grade can %&*£ himself.

I've liked everything written by Russell T. Davies that I've seen.

And the hosannas echoed from across the Atlantic, where no doubt the program will appear in five years or so, at 3 AM, and I'll be there.

*Waves hello from the LotR hobbit fandom.* We've been mutually friended for a couple of weeks; could not restrain myself from commenting at last on seeing this news. *Hopes for the best show possible, and crosses all limbs to make it so*

Hurrah, another Who fan! Hopefully it will make it across the Pond, even if at some ghastly hour.

Thanks for the mutual friending - I've been enjoying your essays on skim-reading a great deal.

Just read that

According to BBC News, the three runners to play the "new" Doctor are, Richard E. Grant, Alan Davies, and Paul McGann.

BTW - this news is doing the blog rounds sharpish isn't it?
