The Middle Earth Fanfic Awards completed last week, and a couple of my stories placed. My rather lovely banners are under the cut. Thank you to everyone who reviewed, and to the MEFA organizers, especially [livejournal.com profile] telperion1, for all your hard work.

Congratulations! I don't think I've read those stories; must catch up...

Double firsts are useless. Awards are much better!

Hello, I've just read your fic "Proof" on [livejournal.com profile] applegnat's (also known as Nol) recommendation and just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed its economical elegance of style, excellent world-building and scene-setting and equally excellent characterisation. I liked the way in which points were made economically and without fuss: in showing as well as telling the need and efficacy of his reforms, the little touch of the postscript to the letter showing his happy relationship with his brother, the way the change in Mablung's attitude was made convincing and plausible. In short, it was lovely and I really enoyed it.

Hi there, and thank you for this lovely and generous review. As I recall, the story came from a challenge by [livejournal.com profile] celandineb to write about Faramir's first day in command of the Ithilien Rangers. I decided not to take the prompt too literally. Later, after discussions with my co-writer Isabeau of Greenlea as to whether Denethor had spies in his son's commands, the character of Angrim emerged, and I wondered how he might have reported back these events. I'm delighted you enjoyed the story and I greatly appreciate the review! :-)
