Hurray! Chirpy sunwashed spy caper Burn Notice has finally appeared in the UK. Covert operative Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) gets the push and is dumped in Miami. Now he has to find out why he's become untouchable - before his mother (Sharon Gless) drives him mad. The pilot was on last week, but I'm sure you'll pick it up just fine: Sunday, 9pm, on FX.

I've been wondering for some time why all the really good US dramas end up on FX which doesn't really have any viewers...

Wonders whether ITV2 or 5US might eventually pick it up...

It turns out to be a Fox channel, so I guess there's some deal in place there. Hallmark is good for US shows too.

I only started watching in S2, though Greg saw S1; fun, light viewing. His mother would certainly drive me mad! :-P

It's taken ages to get over here. Yes, Sharon Gless is just brilliant!

She is! I have to say that I don't like Fiona though. The character's great with excellent skills, but the actor rubs me the wrong way. She's miscast IMO.

I'm annoyed at missing S1. Oh well, too late now.

She grates a bit on me too. Although they are terribly plausible as a couple.

Whereas we've seen and enjoyed S1, and are eagerly awaiting the appearance of S2 on a network here whenever they get around to it :)

I think there are still episodes to be transmitted in the US, so probably some time next year. I'm glad I know where to look for it now: I was keeping an eye on Hallmark, but then FX slipped it out.

But now I have the opening narration stuck into my head whenever I read Financial Crisis headlines, ending up with "Bottom line; until you find out who burned you, you're not going anywhere."

Are you planning on watching "Dead Set" next week? I can't wait - zombies, Big Brother and Charlie Brooker - three of my favourite things in the world!

Ooh, what is this?! I have heard nothing!

(I'll be around the building next week, btw.)

It's starting on E4 tonight at 10pm (I think - might be 11). It's about zombies taking over the world while the inhabitants of the Big Brother house remain unawares - until a surprisingly violent eviction night. take a look -

if that pic of Davina doesn't whet your appetite, I don't know what will! Plus it's written by the brilliant Charlie Brooker, and while I'm on the subject, read:

Fancy a nice greasy spoon lunch if you're around this week? Need to press gang you into reading book no.3 by the way, which I've just finished...

Ha! That looks brilliant! It might be a bit late for me on a school night, but I'll see how knackered I'm feeling after Spooks.

I'm very short of time this week (eight hours teaching plus prep), but are you around next week? It's looking likely I'll be in on Tuesday (4th). Email me: umm10 AT yahoo DOT co DOT uk
