A good job I got a picture of those geraniums and white flowers when I did, because we had a storm last night. The garden was very green this morning:

Mmm, green! Shiny, wet, bright green!

This particular corner of the world is extraordinarily green for the time of year. Normally by this time, it's looking a little bit frayed round the edges, but it's still a very, very lush green.

It feels like spring. Spring heading directly into autumn. Very odd.

We seem to have had a remarkably wet winter, too.

(I'm failing to find figures to back this up, but it doesn't matter, because the figures lie anyway. Lie, I tell you!)

It's been much wetter! NIWA is the site to go to, but they haven't done August yet as it's still going. :-P Here are the details for July. :-(

But it hasn't rained today yet!

A-ha! I was foolishly thinking MetService would have it, but I couldn't find it - thank you!

It's lovely here today :)

NIWA's the place! I had a contract there a couple of years ago and I go to their site first.

It's grey here, but it's dry and calm and those are both pleasantly novel.

Greg was in your town this last week training a new client and is seeing family in Christchurch for the weekend. I hope he's got equally good weather. [uses hopeful icon]

Beautiful :) I can't help feeling that I should know what that shrub is, but I can't place it

Nothinh in our corner of the world is that green except paint.

I may keep the picture to remind me of what it really looks like...

Everything around here is green at the moment. Green and damp.

When I worked in England, I had an Australian colleague who would, with one breath, marvel at how green the place was - and with the next, complain that it never stopped raining ;)

{giggle} I have to admit that when the worst of the drought eased and we did get rain, I kept getting caught with a line of wet washing and no clothes because it just did not... computer...

Our garden is plenty green too. happily, the rain seems not to have discouraged the green cherry tomato plants from proliferating. My peppers are looking promising too, the three peppers are also green. The green plums won't be green for much longer either. I think we've had the right sunshine:rain ratio this year, unlike last when tomatoes failed and rotted.

Its bank holiday weekend, so it's bound to rain.

It's looking pretty sunny out there at the moment, but then the bank holiday has plenty of time to get soggy yet! Unfortunately our garden doesn't get quite enough sun to be able to plant veggies, although we might put beans along the garage at some point.
