I have committed more podfic. The City and Star Island Line by [livejournal.com profile] maelipstick: "Faramir tells a ghost story shortly after the war of the ring. Beware modern English and anachronisms as well as unexpected additions to the fauna of Middle earth. It's told in fun."

Probably my favourite story about Faramir and Eowyn, certainly the funniest story about the pyre that I've read. Very tender, very sweet, very witty. Download from here; read here.

Hello! Sorry this is off-topic, but [livejournal.com profile] gair made a comment on my journal which led me to yours, and made me realise I needed to friend you! I have been doing a similar Classic Doctor Who marathon to you since January, except that I started at the beginning of the Baker era. I've recently reached the end of that (to the accompaniment of much weeping!), and am now moving on to Other Doctors - Pertwee and Sarah Jane at the moment, but Hartnell lined up to follow after that. So, no obligation to friend back or anything, but I shall certainly be reading your Classic Who posts with great interest from now on!

Hello there! Welcome to the journal! I went and read your summary of your Baker marathon and you're doing a much classier job of writing up then we are! We are hugely enjoying rewatching Hartnell an episode a day (including listening to the audios of the missing episodes) - many of my assumptions and prejudices about the B&W era are being steadily dismantled.

(BTW, [livejournal.com profile] mraltariel and I also attended [livejournal.com profile] qatsi and [livejournal.com profile] kharin's civil partnership!)

Oh, did you? Ships that pass in the night, and all that...

I know exactly what you mean about the B&W era. I watched Hartnell's first three stories back in January too, before I got totally sucked into Bakersville, thinking that it would be more of a duty than a pleasure. But I am really looking forward to going back and carrying on now!

Not so sure about this - I really wish I could master the art of the short, pithy review in the way you obviously have. Mine always end up terribly long and involved - but then I do enjoy writing them, and people seem to read them all the same.

Well, looking forward to swapping notes as we go along!

Oh, you have a real treat coming with 'Marco Polo', and the audio narration is beautifully done.

the short, pithy review

On a Blake's 7 mailing list once we wrote haiku for all 52 episodes. Haven't tried that yet with Doctor Who!
