My RSI (carpal tunnel syndrome) has been pretty bad the past couple of weeks, so I've had to keep computer time mostly for work. Will try to catch up on emails next week, I hope.
I owe you two, I think, from while I've been buried in this mad rush at work. Will hopefully reply to them soon, now that I'm free, but *don't* worry about answering!
I'm really sorry to hear that! What really helped for me last year was: 1. Switching to an ergonomic keyboard (although that makes it really hard to use any other computer because the keys are in "the wrong place" 2. Using a frozen gelpack to ice my hands 3. Wearing wrist splints--after a few minutes' practice you can keyboard with them on.
Another vote on behalf of ergonomic keyboards from someone who gets occasional carpal-tunnel twinges herself. (If I get twinges at work and I can't take a break, nor can I put the bag-of-frozen-peas on my wrists, I find that a cold can of soda does the trick.) Here's hoping you feel better and your fingers are flying again soon.
Thank you, Tyellas. Sounds like people are having success with cold compresses when I've been trying warm; I'll give that a go too (and an ergonomic keyboard when the next paycheque lands, perhaps).
When I was working in an office I would stand up and stretch at regular intervals; working at home I seem to lose track of the time and can easily spend four or five hours without getting up from the desk. I need to start setting alarm reminders again.

Hope it gets better soon!!
Thank you :-)
