Specifically, the podfic I was after in a previous post is fanfiction read out (rather than audio books per se, although I'm going to get round to that too), whether by the author or else by My Friends. Which I think is a smashing idea. The ever-wise
toft_froggy sent me to this site, but I see none of my fandoms *mourns* Shall I do some? What shall I do?

Date: 2008-02-05 09:47 pm (UTC)Those are good suggestions, particularly Journey's End, which I think would suit being read.

Date: 2008-02-05 10:04 pm (UTC)I've actually considered this myself. I no longer have a very pleasing voice, and I think I'd be scared to read aloud some of what I've written. (Because...naughty! It was hard enough typing some of that, let alone reading it out!) But I think the "market" for audiofic will only grow and grow. I would LOVE to a) listen to fic read aloud by friends and b) read about your adventures in recording same.
And can I just add that your icon is cracking me up?

Date: 2008-02-06 09:55 am (UTC)I tend to gabble when lecturing, so slowing down will be the main thing. I've only read out my fiction to a small group of sympathetic listeners before, and it's made me terribly nervous. I want to get past that. (Oddly, I think it might be different when the audience isn't directly in front of me.)
Glad you like the icon - here's another one ;-) I mainlined Upstairs, Downstairs at the end of last year, and then demanded icons from Mr A.

Date: 2008-02-07 03:11 am (UTC)Why not do your favorite short piece in each of your fandoms, and see how it goes? It would be wonderful to see al your work in podcast form, but of course that's a very long-term project.

Date: 2008-02-07 09:08 am (UTC)(And I'd like to try Firimar, if you were willing... But you might want to wait to hear what kind of reader I make, first!)

Date: 2008-02-08 01:56 am (UTC)And I'm flattered that you'd like to make a podcast of Firimar. If you feel up to it, you're more than welcome to read it. You'd certainly make a better reader than I would! I don't know no nuthin' 'bout makin' no podcasts. ;-)
