Ah, Torchwood. Why do I always nod off with fifteen minutes to go?

Meanwhile, it continues to generate commentary superior to the episodes themselves. This, on its links to Dad's Army is inspired. Spoilers up to and including 'They Keep Killing Suzie'. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] shezan for the link.

Actually, apart from some worrying bits I think I can talk round and some plotholes I'm not sure I can, I thought it wasn't too bad this week. Though certainly not as good as the commentary.

I didn't mind this week's, I just can't seem to stay awake to the end. Once it was over I put on Strictly Come Dancing and was full of beans again.

Maybe that was what was wrong with Gwen; she suddenly realised she was in Torchwood.

I got "Oh feck, we need to pull a series story arc out of our arses, quick, how do we do it" from this week's ep. Still not very impressed, as I'm attempting to comment on the entry you link to if and when my damn internet connection will let me.

I'm watching it with the vague sort of interest I save for viewing wrecks. When I'm not nodding off.

It's the first one I've watched twice, though I still couldn't work out how to fill in the plotholes.

If this inspired anyone to write a Torchwood/Dad's Army crossover... I'd read it :)

Heh, we can hope!

Well....I really like it.

But then at the time I'm watching it, usually the 1.50am showing on BBC3, I'm sewing and the only other options are yet MORE re-runs of 2 pints, or the god-awful Titty Bangbang!

The TV landscape can get a bit bleak at times. Usually there's an episode of Law and Order somewhere, but you can't always rely on it.

Thanks for the link. We've only just got round to watching last week's episode on account of having visitors and being out a lot this week.

So, in Torchwood vs Hyperdrive, whose bumbling incompetence is going to save the day first?

God, I would want to be part of the Hyperdrive crew infinitely more than working for Torchwood.

:-)

There is no way Torchwood would survive a Category J inspection.

They'd all be bunking off that day for one thing.

Or off bonking.

PS *bows to your genius* Only you would think of linking Torchwood and Hyperdrive (and, indeed, linking Torchwood and the Famous Five!).

Aww, thank you. *blushes*

Hurrah for FI-COAT, and for bumbling British incompetence in past, present, future and parallel universes!

My love for Torchwood extends boundlessly to the horizons and beyond. I have a hard time choosing a favourite moment from that episode, but I think it was the moment where Jack was waiting for the glove to be destroyed back at Torchwood when, after having already shot Suzi three times without effect, he shoots her *again*. Just kind of on spec.

And that Dad's Army link was exceedingly amusing. I think one of the reasons I've been enjoying the show so much when a lot of people on my flist weren't is that I've been getting pretty much what I expected all along. It entirely fits my idea of how a post-Cyberinvasion remnant Torchwood unit located in Cardiff and headed by Captain Jack *should* be.

I think you're on to something here. I need to press the 'bungling British bureaucrats' switch in my head.
