November doth loom in a quite alarming fashion, so remember remember that [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo is there to help the long winter evenings fly by.

But it's spring (or meant to be).

That's my hope for NaNo this year: that I can write freely and not get stuck in a constant loop of revision.

At the moment, I'm even afraid of trying to go for as little as 5,000 words. Dangerous distraction, and all that.

500 words is the other target. Or why don't you do what someone else is doing, and use picowrimo to get college work done?

Neat idea! Unfortunately, I'm not in the writing stage yet. Hmmm, maybe I should try to churn out some fanfiction instead, distraction or not.

Okay, but what about those *points at herself* who would have more than enough to do but not enough time?

Well, I have no time at all, so I'm going to try NaNo! ;-D

You're really suicidal, you know that? :))

I'd dearly love to sign up to [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo, but my muse is such a capricious being. When she knows I have to write a certain amount within a certain timeframe, she promptly decides that it's time for a break. *sighs*

Oh yes! 7 lectures and 10 hours of teaching to prep and then do, a concert to practice for - of course I should be doing NaNoWriMo!

Wretched muses. 500 words is a perfectly good target for [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo too, you know, so how about five drabbles?

I can try, I guess... *looks doubtful*
I still don't really get the concept, though - am I expected to write that number of words in November? And is there a certain fandom required?

The idea is to pick a word target (500 or 5000, most people are doing 5000), and then to write that amount of words during November. No fandom required, doesn't even have to be a fandom, and people are doing various things: writing bits of ongoing projects, or finishing up several old stories, or writing something completely new.
