Obviously, it's only in my head that DS9 would win this BBC poll to discover 'the definitive Trek', but no way should it be lagging behind Voyager, fer chrissakes, so go and do your duty and remember - this matters!
I suppose it depends how people understand the question, and I'm not whether 'definitive Trek' means the same as 'best film/series'? (You may want to repeat this to yourself every time you check the current standings. :-))
I would write and explain to them why DS9 is the best, but I can't find the contact link on the page... there must be one, somewhere, because the first time I voted Whoopi Goldberg was a recurring character in DS9 and the second time she'd gone back to TNG, so obviously someone pointed it out in those five minutes.
I do hope the BBC is tracking the IP addresses of those voting for Voyager, and forwarding on the contact information to the appropriate mental health service providers.
I'm sorry, I'm a Next Genner by nature, and though I absolutely agree with you that DS9 beats Voyager by a mile, if you give me the choice of "The Voyage Home" I'm going to vote for it.
There are a few of the others I might say were definitive, but not Voyager. Who are these 8.75% people (as of when I voted for DS9 as ordered)? And are they living on the same planet as the rest of us?
Have voted from work too since that is a completely different matter to me voting from home.
Sadly, DS9 is lagging again. On the other hand, the DS9 bar is pretty pink, whereas the Voyager one is icky, greenish mustard yellow.
I like Janeway. I'd have liked it even better if only it had consisted entirely of Janeway, Tuvok, Seven, The (EMH) Doctor, B'Elanna and Seska. And possibly it would have been better if their return to the Alpha Quadrant had been followed by a wave of Delta Quadrant armies, united under their desire to give the Federation, as represented by Voyager, a jolly good thrashing for all the imperialism they displayed on the way home, along with accompanying claims for humongous compensation for all the damage inflicted. 'Cos if their soldiers couldn't bring down the Federation, the backup force of accountants and lawyers and environmentalists would.
