Just saw [livejournal.com profile] merrymaia safely off on the coach for the airport.

Thank you to all who came at various points across the weekend; it was fantastic to see you all. The house feels a bit empty now. I have only essays, a double bill of Battlestar Craptica, and the remains of a raspberry pavlova to keep me company!

Thanks for the update - I'm glad that she's got off ok. I'm only just out of my meeting, so I'm glad I didn't try to say that I'd see you.

It was a wonderful weekend; thank you so much, both you and Mr A, for hosting and being such a splendid part of it all.

Good luck with the tail-end of term, and we must get together once it's all over...

Thanks to you and Mr Altariel for your wonderful hospitality, as always!

God speed to [livejournal.com profile] merrymaia. I'm glad that she got off OK, and that she obviously hasn't come down with any of the plagues that live in my kitchen...

I have only essays, a double bill of Battlestar Craptica, and the remains of a raspberry pavlova to keep me company!

Suggest ditching the essays and concentrating on the other two :)

It was lovely to see you on Saturday :-) We listened to 'Grey' from the Karl Jenkins CD this morning, and then I was able to show Maia the very end of the Doctor Who episode 'Boom Town', which finishes with a shot of the Millenium Centre in Wales and the words "In These Stones Horizons Sing".

Suggest ditching the essays and concentrating on the other two :)

:-D I was very taken with this plan until I read [livejournal.com profile] hafren's...

'In These Stones Horizons Sing' made me think of Doctor Who, too! I repressed the impulse to mention it to [livejournal.com profile] merrymaia because I thought it might be an incomprehensible segue.

I think that 'Grey' should be the Angel swansong. Or at least, I want a Wesley/Lilah icon that says 'I think that all the lasting things are grey'.

I've never let an incomprehensible segue get in the way of mentioning Doctor Who ;-D

I'd like to see a Wesley/Lilah icon like that - suits the noir feel. Is 'Grey' a villanelle?

A week since she arrived. We made a sterling case for attendance at Redemption and I'm fairly certain we were persuasive...!

Thanks for letting us know she got off O.K. and thanks so much again to you and Mr A for a wonderful weekend - it was great to see so many folks and eat so much food. Mmm raspberry pavlova ... lucky you ...

I have a yummy bean stew to polish off too. And some new knives are about to arrive - I gather that something is planned for the weekend involving a lamb...

Much the same as I've been thinking about the rest of the season, to be honest, which is - sadly - not all that much. I always seem to end up fast-forwarding through episodes at some point. I think the show looks good and has some brilliant performances, but really lacks substance. Have you been enjoying this season?

Now I've been exactly the reverse - massively enjoyed the miniseries, my interest steadily declining since then (since the interrogation episode, which I thought was a stinker). I'd been wondering what you thought of the miniseries as a piece of disaster fiction.

It does look really great, I have to give it that. And I'd happily watch a show which was about the politics (More Roslin! More Roslin!). I seem to find myself fast-forwarding through a lot of the battle stuff (which I'm usually quite cheerful about).
