I watched back the season 6 finale of The West Wing again last night. A most serious question emerges. Poll under the cut, but don't look if you don't want to be spoiled for season 6 onwards.

Alan Alda and Jimmy Smits are squaring up to be elected President. Who'd get your vote?

I stopped caring about spoilers for The West Wing after season 4. Sad but true.

I'd vote for Alan Alda because I'd want to see more of him in season 7. :-D

Somehow I've largely managed to avoid WW spoilers - possibly because by the time I was seeing the episodes over here it was so late everyone else had stopped talking about it. I did get spoiled for the end of this season reading John Spencer's obituaries, but I think I wouldn't have wanted not to read those.

And I would vote for Alan Alda too, because - dammit, Alan Alda! :-D I'd vote President C.J. though.

It's a question that's been bothering me too *g*. In the end I just had to go for Hawkeye, because, well, he's Hawkeye.

You are making that up.

I keep typing things and deleting them. I think the short answer is: yes. Yes, it is.

What a shame! It's so brilliant. There are DVDs out, if you can get your hands on them.

Hi [livejournal.com profile] eirynn, welcome to my journal :-) As soon as I saw the TS Eliot quotation on your info page I knew we must have things in common!

These are my journal entries on Brendan Kennelly, although I've not really written anything substantial about him. Here he is reading some of his poetry, if you haven't found that link already. If you do get to meet him I would love to hear about it. I keep thinking of writing him some fan mail, but I don't know where to start!

I keep writing the letter in my head but never quite having the confidence to put it on paper - never mind post it!

I haven't read The Book of Judas yet, although my university library has a copy (I'm just working through his plays at the moment). I'm guessing you have access to a university library, since you said you're writing a thesis - does it to inter-library loans?

If inter-library loans can't help, can Amazon marketplace?

How frustrating that not even Amazon can help. I really hope you can get it through your library somehow. I'm hoping to get round to reading it when I've got through this current pile of library books, although it might be almost summer by then.

I'm really glad you found Edward Gorey! I don't know his work all that well, really just the alphabet poem (the one in my user info has my name in it), but his style is so distinctive. I've never seen Tim Burton's drawings although I also really like him as a director, and can imagine how his style might be similar to Gorey's.
