[livejournal.com profile] mraltariel: So, Colin's first season proper is rather a good one. Except for "Timelash".
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: Two brilliant, one good, one misfire, one meh, one bad. That's alright.
[livejournal.com profile] mraltariel: Best season since Davison's first?
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: Nah. I just like Davison more. But Colin has great brio!
[livejournal.com profile] mraltariel: Fair enough - but I think this season is both more ambitious and better executed than most of the rest of Davison.
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: Let's hope they keep up this momentum...

Season 23 - our thorts )
Ranking )
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: Well, poor Colin. Most unfairly treated.
[livejournal.com profile] mraltariel: Yes, it is sad to know that this is the last we'll get of him. Peri's departure was also very, very disappointing. But (and I know I'm in a minority here) I quite like Mel, when they give her something to do.
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: You're in a minority, even though there are only two of us here.
[livejournal.com profile] mraltariel: I want to say something about this season.
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: If you must.
[livejournal.com profile] mraltariel: Again, it was a lot better than I was expecting. It had me laughing out loud several times, far too early in the morning. If Mindwarp hadn't been so shit, I would've really enjoyed this kind of Doctor Who for another season.
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: Theme tune needs taking out and shooting, though.

Season 24 - our thorts )
Ranking )
[livejournal.com profile] mraltariel: Not the strongest season we've ever had, but they've really refreshed the show and taken off in a new direction.
[livejournal.com profile] altariel: Ramshackle season of delights.

Several exciting things happening in advance of the release of my new Doctor Who novel, The Way through the Woods (release date: 28th April):

An extract is now available on Amazon (and you can pre-order the Kindle edition there too). And don't miss the extracts from the other two books coming out at the same time: Dead of Winter by James Goss and Hunter's Moon by Paul Finch.

I'll be signing copies of The Way through the Woods at Forbidden Planet in London on Saturday April 16th. James Goss will be there too signing Dead of Winter. And don't worry if you can't make it, because you can order signed copies if you click on that link!
