You know, I can't help thinking there's a crossover in there. Sense and Serenity? The story of Simon and River Dashwood and their painful disappointments on the way to finding true love?
Despite having written a fair number (and variety) of them myself, ALL Jayne pairings squick me, as do River pairings unless I can come up with some flimsy excuse for her not to be nuts, so Rayne *especially* squicks me.
