Run for your life!
Mar. 8th, 2005 11:12 pmAn evening spent catching Dr Who trailers and squeeing like a thing that makes a lot of a squeeing noises. BBC Wales Tonight had a cool little clip and an interview with a squiffy RTD which our Sky box pretended to tape and then helpfully lost. Excited enough to forgive. Seem to be humming the theme tune a lot. In between all this and a trailer for The Two Ronnies, it's like some weird timewarp thing is going on, taking us all back to some platonic Saturday evening in 1977, only with better special effects and somehow less damp and chilly.
I'm aware the episode is out there. I don't want to know a thing.
Edited to add: Licence fee payers make their views on the new show heard. My favourite comment: "It's a dream come true and amply compensates for never having had a girlfriend."

Date: 2005-03-09 01:17 am (UTC)The single clip I saw was very encouraging: I'd had a couple of reservations about whether Christopher Eccleston could pull off the humour of the part, but he's a brilliant actor and I shouldn't have worried. Just over two weeks to go! No doubt I'll blather at length here. I think the first transmission date in Canada is 5th April.

Date: 2005-03-09 10:29 am (UTC)I'm glad to hear that new technology is no more reliable. My video clicked on for Dan Cruikshank's Around the World in 80 Treasures last Saturday, whirred for an hour, then clicked off. And what do I have for it? 60 minutes of snow. It seems it "forgot" where BBC1 and BBC2 were in its tuning settings. Funny that the PDC control worked, though.
