Mornin' all
Mar. 19th, 2003 09:26 amI'm watching daytime television for the first time since... well, the first year of my PhD (that shiny time when you think, "Oh, I've got ages..." and, worse, "I can knock this out in a fortnight, no sweat..."). Kilroy is talking to people who buy heroin - and here's the twist - for their daughters!!!!! !! !
Later in the morning someone who was at college at the same time as me will be presenting one of those house repair programmes. As I sit here watching, still in my dressing gown, I think the British taxpayer can be content at the amount spent on our educations.
Meanwhile, Anke Eissmann has updated her art site and kindly delivered: Stricken!Faramir and Adoring!Faramir (you have to go in through the front page of the site). What can I say? I've become a shocking romantic in my old age. Oh, there's a new one of Boromir in his boat too.

*gives you a 'horrified teenager' look*
...
How did you last that long? I can't even go a week without TV! There was a time when I did everything in front of the TV... I even had a huge blow up with my 'rents, and they didn't let me switch on the TV for six whole months. Needless to say, it didn't work, because the internet was a new thing back then, and I discovered it in all its glory... ;)

Date: 2003-03-19 02:33 am (UTC)I only gave up daytime TV!! Still watched a lot of telly in the evenings. Couldn't live without the goggle box. And the internet consumes most of my waking hours too, as you point out!

Date: 2003-03-19 02:37 am (UTC)Ohhhh... okay, that I can understand. There's hardly ever anything good during the daytime, anyway (unless you count Sesame Street, heehee).

Date: 2003-03-19 02:41 am (UTC)Gasp! D'you mean that a line-up consisting of people explaining why they buy heroin for their daughters and then a house makeover show doesn't tempt you?!? ;)
Nor I. That's probably why I'm online instead.

The Springer contingent...
Date: 2003-03-19 11:47 am (UTC)Where do these daytime TV hosts find these people?!!! The local zoo, perhaps?
And what sort of person would go on the airwaves and actually publicly ADMIT to doing such things?
Some days I think the gene pool would really benefit from a good, stiff dose of chlorine.
Re: The Springer contingent...
Date: 2003-03-20 01:51 am (UTC)The host himself isn't much to write home about. He used to be an MP. He's possibly the slimiest man on the planet. I'd like to know which pool he slithered from.
