People pre-ordering the RotK EE at Amazon have been treated to a new 5 minute clip of footage, which is now available for downloading from this site. There's a lovely scene with Pippin and Faramir. Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] fileg for pointing me to this site.

Any hobbit-eating?

Yours hopefully, etc. etc.

Just after the dwarf-hunt.

And before the elf-shaving? Oh boy!

Don't forget the Ent torching. There has to be Ent torching.

Four shaven elves, three torched Ents, two hunted dwarves, and a ho-ob-bit fri-ca-see!

Thanks for posting this link! The Pippin/Faramir interaction was very sweet, but is there anyone else besides me whom the extended Paths of the Dead remind somehow of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (which is not necessarily a compliment...)?

*chuckles* Just like that bit in TTT after Aragorn plunges over the cliff, and they all line up to look over - I keep expecting to see him come up behind them.

Oh, I've never thought of that! I must have been too horrified at the inclusion of this scene -- but you're right: It is another Indiana Jones moment. And it would definitely have been more fun if he had appeared behind them and spared us the rest. No, wait, we would never have experienced Brego, the smooching horse, then...

And I do like him throwing open the doors and stomping in at Helm's Deep.

Thanks for the link. That really is a gorgeous little scene between Pippin and Faramir. If it plays as well in full version as it does in the clip I think it's going into my own personal view of canon!

It's lovely to see those two actors in a scene together. Billy Boyd comes damn close to stealing that entire film, I think.

I absolutely agree. He was wonderful in the cinema version and looks as if he's going to be wonderful in the EE too. And the more I see of David Wenham's Faramir the more I like him!

Me too. I'm very glad they've lit the Houses of Healing scenes so we get the raven and golden.
