I took the icon from this gorgeous picture by Anke Katrin Eissmann. All of her artwork (Tolkien-related and other) is beautiful; her site is here.

So it was a do-it-yourself icon, wasn't it? I'm quite impressed (people who create LJ icons usually put me in awe, because I'm so very bad at it myself). Thanks for the link: I already knew the site, as I'm quite fond of Anke-Katrin's Tolkien art myself, but you kind of reminded me to go and check for updates, which I hadn't for ages -- and the site does actually feature a new illustration (with Faramir nonetheless). Second piece of good news today. :-)
