I've had a couple of conversations recently where I've said, "You know, I've really gone off Blake's 7; just don't seem to be interested in it any more; haven't got anything to say; don't really miss not having it on DVD; maybe I've just fallen out of love with it..." and then the whole thing was proved an utter falsehood when I watched those Top Ten Sci-Fi Moments on Sky and went into squeeing excitement mode to see the denouement of 'Blake' (which of course I've hardly ever seen...).

I think, in large part, it's got something to do with seeing bits of B7 on 'proper telly'. Not on tape, or DVD. But on telly, live, showing right now. Because it was much wanted, and hardly ever happened.

I dunno. On the one hand, it's just about my favourite scene of anything ever. On the other, every time I see it I get slightly more irritated by Paul Darrow's delivery of the lines. Maybe Iain could do an Acting Lesson exploring different ways of doing the encounter? or did that happen in one of the sessions I missed?

I have that response to the delivery as well. I don't remember us doing different ways of that encounter. Didn't Chris Boucher say something about having written one of the lines differently from how it was delivered: "Have you betrayed us? Have you betrayed me?" I think he had written it with the emphasis on the 'haves'.

I don't think it was the "haves" - I think he said it should have been just the "you" and not the "me" - more "you're the last person I expected to do this" than "how could you do this to me, of all people?" But I think emphasising the "haves" would be another good option - focusing on "is this really true?"

Yes, you're quite right, it was the 'you'. I wouldn't have thought there were so many different ways of playing out those lines.

But yes, seeing it on telly is much more exciting. Maybe it's knowing I've got to hang on every word, because I can't just rewind to check a line, or a costume detail.

It's like watching something in its natural state.
