An inflatable church. It's almost worth getting married. Look at the inside.

That is just so wrong, on so many levels... (rolls eyes)

Suddenly thought of the debate among Highlander Immortals as to whether an Inflatable Church would count as Holy Ground. I'd say not.
And it would make a bit of a mess if someone got loose with a sword...

As you can see, I simply can't take this idea seriously...

I notice they have an inflatable pub as well -- that would probably be more useful.

That is just brilliant.

Mr A wondered if it was consecrated to start with, it probably wouldn't be by the time they finished.

By the time they'd finished what? Building the church, inflating the church, or having the fight?

BTW my argument for it not being Holy Ground is basically this: the ground isn't concecrated ground.

Having the fight.

I gather the inflatable churches come without floors, just the grass. Good for high heels at least.

That is insanely funny. And notice the absolute lack of irony in advertising 'Other Inflatables'!

I love those other inflatables, how they're presented as a natural set - nightclubs, pubs, churches...

Hey, if they add houses to their lineup, they could advertise it as an inflatable town and market it to disaster-prone areas. Live in an inflatable town - it's earthquake-proof by design! Floats in floods! And if a hurricane or tornado is headed your way, just deflate your house and move it out of harms' way!

I think the idea has real potential (although I'm sure there will be those of limited vision who will try to burst my bubble).

An inflatable organ? It'll never catch on.

OMG that is GREAT. Do they do synagogues too?

I watched the video on the site *cough* not procrastinating *cough* and recall some mention of future plans to do mosques, but surely synagogues must follow.

Sure is! The world needs an inflatable church. If only to put all that hot air from various religious blowhards to good use... ;-)

(I can't get over how nice it looks inside. I've seen "real" churches that don't look half as good.)

*snort!*

I've seen "real" churches that don't look half as good.

And still it's completely in the spirit of gaudy religious tat.

Lightweight, movable, and still gaudy and overdone: it's perfect for holding revival meetings!

I love the idea of there being an entry in the Guinness Book of Records for the largest inflatable church in the world. Just how many are there?

Two would be enough for competition. Look at Ebay.

We saw that on TV earlier this year and had to hit rewind and watch it several times to believe it. They showed it being inflated, then gave us a tour. I love the pews, all shiny, brown, rotund, and rubbery. I bet it gets noisy in there when everyone gets up and sits down at once. :-D

Hee, a mass 'squelching' sound when everyone got up for the hymns!
