Keepers of the Hearth: Best Original Characterization, Winner
One Day: Best Poetry (comic or light), Winner
Well done to the Awards Committee for their organization and hard work. As ever, it was great fun participating, particularly to get the chance to read stories that I would not otherwise have seen.
Why, thank you for asking!:

Thank you to everyone who voted for At Sea: I'm dead chuffed!

Date: 2004-07-13 02:03 am (UTC)Well done to the Awards Committee for their organization and hard work.
Organisation might be overstating it a touch, but thanks for imputing it! I'm glad that you enjoyed participating -- I've certainly read loads of great stuff that I wouldn't otherwise have encountered.

Date: 2004-07-13 02:22 am (UTC)You know I love all your writing, but At Sea, in particular, fills me with great glee, so I'm, well, *gleeful* to see that it got recognized.

Date: 2004-07-13 02:34 am (UTC)I was so chuffed about At Sea: it hadn't made the final list in the judged category, so it was such a pleasant surprise to see it there this morning.

Date: 2004-07-13 07:26 am (UTC)But much as I know you love Denethor, I have to say that I suspect he'd be a buzz-killer at any party. :-)

Date: 2004-07-13 10:36 am (UTC)I suspect maudlin too. Dreadful thought!

Date: 2004-07-13 07:27 am (UTC)And I can't even explain how mortified I am that a story I wrote in 30 minutes for an improv, that was never betaed or edited, is sitting there with awards, especially considering that fannish competition is practically against my religion. Am thinking (after a week of really really struggling with Lupin/Snape) that perhaps I should never write anything over 500 words again.

Date: 2004-07-13 08:31 am (UTC)Your struggles with Lupin/Snape are much appreciated.

Date: 2004-07-13 10:48 am (UTC)Congrats to you too – especially for At Sea – and to everyone else, and many thanks to all the organisers - I can only imagine the amount work involved.
Right, I’m in new territory here so let’s hope I’ve done this properly ...
