[livejournal.com profile] archbishopm complained people weren't posting any quizzes. So here's one I got from [livejournal.com profile] applegnat.

I am 100% British, just like
HRH Prince Charles
Though you'll never be king you certainly know where your castle is.

Looks like I'm less British than you - only 80%. I'm not sure which of us came off worse with the comparisons: I'm apparently like Mr Bean...

I am 87.5% British, just like
Mr Bean
Shy to the point of ridicule, you've probably never been out of the UK.

What happened to my other 12.5% ? I'm outraged. Maybe it's because I hate tea.

Oh, by the way, it's my belief that you cheated horribly.

Mr Bean? Bad luck!

I did cheat - I pretended I liked tea. But who could wish other than to be just like Prince Charles?

92.5%. I couldn't bring myself to feign ignorance of Russell Crowe

What was the correct answer for that one? I put New Zealand.

So did I, I thought that's why I lost a point - should have patriotically pretended he was British. Hmmm, on due consideration this interpretation of mine is probably a bit biased.

Now that you mention it - who indeed?

Maybe the other answer meant Manchester, New Hampshire.

The Really Annoying part of that quiz is that it assumes that the only nationalities that exist are British or US. Which renders it meaningless for me. There were quite a few questions for which neither of the available choices were the right answer for me. Besides hating both beer and tea, I mean. Well, the Americans introduced me to lemon iced tea, which is a whole different kettle of... tea.
And why weren't there any questions about Cricket? :-P

This test made me feel unclean.

What happened, did you come out as Prince Charles too?

I encountered a Patriotism Error and was unable to complete the assignment.

It doesn't seem to be a finely-tuned instrument to measure nationality.

Mr Bean also. I pretended that I'd never heard of Jerry Springer, but I couldn't pretend to like tea. That would be too much.

It simply wouldn't be cricket.

Someone else on this thread encountered what they called a Patriotism Error too.

It's a great national secret that, in fact, hardly anyone British understands cricket. We're just good at faking it.
