The Crimson Shadow has been doing very nicely, thank you very much, and its brief appearance on the NYT bestseller list has meant that I've ended up doing a bit of publicity as a result.

Here I am in the local paper, the Cambridge News.

And I'm on local BBC Radio Cambridgeshire here (first half hour or so: only 2 days left to listen and I'm not sure whether you can listen outside the UK).

I've done several other podcasts recently as well:

Literary Treks 38, discussing The Crimson Shadow in depth.

Bookmark on Cambridge 105, local community radio, talking about writing in general and Doctor Who in particular.

And the lovely people at Verity! (a Doctor Who podcast done by Six Smart Women) interviewed me back in September, see here.

And there are two books out at the moment with which I'm tangentially involved:

Middle-earth Envisioned is a stunning hardback book about Tolkien adaptations on screen, stage, and beyond. I have a short sidebar piece on the Stewards of Gondor in book, film, and radio.

And please support Behind the Sofa, which is a collection of celebrity memories of Doctor Who, in aid of Alzheimer's Research UK. That link goes to a signing at Forbidden Planet in London tomorrow, if you happen to be in the area. I posted about this book before, but this is a relaunch from a bigger publisher, and the book has been expanded significantly. Good Xmas present.

Congrats on having some many projects and publicity going! The Tolkien volume looks stunning indeed.

I have passed on the CN link to God. I suspect an eybrow might rise a millimeter or so in pleasure.

Wow, that's wonderful, to get so much traction! I hope it is translating into sales. I have bookmarked the Sofa link to have a look at when I'm finished writing for the day.

That's all looking pretty awesome, and congratulations on making the list! The only book of yours I've read was The Way Through the Woods (so far) and I enjoyed that immensely, so I'll try to get my hands on the ST novel as well.

And Middle-earth Envisioned - wow! They are actually featuring some of my photomanips, but I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive and hadn't seen that there was a preview on amazon yet. So pretty! :D

Lots of great stuff going on for you! And yes, the BBC Cambridgeshire segment is available outside the UK--at least in the States it is, as I'm listening to it now. =D

ETA - and now I'm listening to your interview on Verity! because I'm enjoying what you have to say about all manner of things. Re: Tolkien...more named horses than women? OMG. Horrifying yet not at all surprising.

Congratulations (again) on the success of Crimson Shadow! I see some very lovely reader reviews on Amazon. The BBC Radio program is available to me here in the US (playing right now, and it's so lovely to hear your voice!) and I'm downloading the Literary Treks podcast right this minute.

Ooh, I shall look forward to seeing your photomanips! I read the book in draft and I think it's absolutely super - can't wait to see the finished product which is by all accounts beautiful.

Good, I'm glad that was available! Yes, that was very striking about there being more named horses than women. I used it as the starting point for an essay I've just written about women writing Tolkien fanfiction (more on that when/if it gets accepted!).
