The thing that frustrates me about Russell T Davies and his Doctor-as-Messiah motifs is that... when those motifs are most overt, that is when the Doctor is behaving least like Christ. I don't mean the Doctor's self-sacrifice, I agree that that's Christlike, but when you have the snapping fingers and being carried by angels, being all floaty and glowing... (shakes head)... Christ resisted the temptation to be carried by angels, so being carried by angels is hardly Christ-like.
