The Mysterious Planet
altariel: This isn't bad. It is cheap, but it jogs along merrily, and is rather likeable.
mraltariel: In fact, I think it is really quite funny. I love Drathro. He's so cross.
altariel: Which one's Drathro?
mraltariel: He's the robot.
altariel: Oh yes. I feel like that, a lot of the time.

Mindwarp
altariel: Stupid nasty rubbish
mraltariel: Hideously badly cast. Why oh why did they think that Brian Blessed was right for that role?
altariel: Even Jason Connery would've been better. But this story would still stink.
mraltariel: The rebels are also incredibly bad at acting. Total rubbish.

Terror of the Vervoids
altariel: This is great.
mraltariel: Oh, yes. I can't believe we've not had a murder mystery in Who before.
altariel: Haven't we?
mraltariel: Unless you count "The Sensorites".
altariel: And why shouldn't we.
mraltariel: "My God...we could swap our sashes!"
altariel: "They'll never know!" Anyway. The vervoids look brilliant. I'm on their side.
mraltariel: I knew you would be. They're also quite cross people.
altariel: "Destroy all monkeys!" ithinkineedalittleliedown
mraltariel: There there.

The Ultimate Foe
altariel: I feel faintly bewildered. It is a cut-down of "The Deadly Assassin", but it looks good.
mraltariel: Yes. It does. In fact, I think it is a better version of "The Deadly Assassin".
altariel: Shorter, and with Michael Jayston. Win all round.

altariel: Well, poor Colin. Most unfairly treated.
mraltariel: Yes, it is sad to know that this is the last we'll get of him. Peri's departure was also very, very disappointing. But (and I know I'm in a minority here) I quite like Mel, when they give her something to do.
altariel: You're in a minority, even though there are only two of us here.
mraltariel: I want to say something about this season.
altariel: If you must.
mraltariel: Again, it was a lot better than I was expecting. It had me laughing out loud several times, far too early in the morning. If Mindwarp hadn't been so shit, I would've really enjoyed this kind of Doctor Who for another season.
altariel: Theme tune needs taking out and shooting, though.

I liked Vervoids better when it was called Robots Of Death... (yes, they've done both murder mysteries *and* Agatha Christie's Ten Little Whateverwe'reallowedtocallitthisweek's before this in DW... Despite Pip'n'Jane claiming this was a revolutionary thought that hadn't been done!)

Oh yes, "Robots of Death". Although I guessed the murderer in that one by simply looking at who was wearing which trousers.
