Right, LJ, after a week trying and failing to upload pictures to Scrapbook, I'm going over to Flickr.

Bang. They're up. Post about them later.

What issues where you having? Direct with LJ or via a client? I have an external photo account too, but whenever I do use scrapbook, I've never had any issues with it.

Direct with LJ. It would upload as far as, say, 87% (or, more annoyingly, 97%), and then the upload would fail. Tried usual stuff - emptying cache, restarting browser, restarting machine, different machine, different browsers - no luck.

This is the first time I've ever had problems with scrapbook too.

Maybe I'd better prepare myself for next time I upload!

Let me know! Although others on my f'list have posted pictures, so I think it's may well just be me.

I have used Flickr, but it generally takes me about an hour to work out how to do it. Whereas Scrapbook tends to work OK for me, so I hope I can stick with it.

I found my way round Flickr quickly enough; I like the mapping function. But I've had no problems with Scrapbook at all and it's where all my pictures are archived. It'll be a right royal pain if I can't get it to work again.

Flickr is way better. I love their interface.

A good choice on your part! Scrapbook is behaving in an increasingly wonky fashion - and believe me, it's a lot easier to crosspost from another photo-hosting service than to have to move your photos and redo your links later. I've found that out the hard way!

I'm liking the mapping function very much. I haven't tried linking directly to pictures yet from an LJ post; I'll have to see how that works out.

Yes, I'll be hugely fed up if I have to redo links in LJ posts. It's a shame, because Scrapbook was a perfectly functional little tool and I was quite happy to keep on using it. But it shouldn't take a week to (not quite) upload 13 pictures.

No, it shouldn't. Apparently the LJ Scrapbook is abandonware; they're not updating it at all. I wish I'd known that before I'd posted 1500 photos to it! That's going to be a lot of links to update (not to mention photos to upload to SmugMug).

Thanks for the update. But - oh, bloody hell! *kicks LJ*

Now what's LJ doing to deserve a kick? (I'm almost afraid to ask...)

Just not supporting Scrapbook. I'm OK with LJ most of the time, but this is annoying.
