Never say never
Jan. 5th, 2010 08:01 pmWow, I've just written my first extended bit of fanfic in absolutely ages. One of my New Year Resolutions was to finish my never-ending Denethor Lives! AU WiP Withered Tree. I started it in 2003, and have completed four out of seven projected chapters. I used to write a new chapter every January, but I haven't touched it since 2006. It's all plotted out in my head, but I haven't found the urge sufficient to bring it to completion. I dusted it down over the weekend, and read through what was there, and it all seemed very straightforward from here on. Let's see what happens. It still might take till 2013...
I don't know, though. Writing it feels very much like a swansong. But, you know, see subject line.
Also, I bloody love January. I know nobody else does. But I love it. The days are getting steadily longer, they're crisp and clear, and my mind follows it into that place. There's a whole new year ahead to muck about with. I love bright blue and white fierce bright January. Of course, it hasn't snowed here yet.
Also also, I have new boots.

Date: 2010-01-06 02:44 am (UTC)I'm glad someone in the Northern Hemisphere loves poor January. It's probably traumatized at all the hate vibes people in my area are sending it, and at such a young age, too!

Date: 2010-01-06 07:57 am (UTC)evelennine months. You'll probably be waking up to snow today; if Northampton gets it, it's always worse elsewhere. I just cleared my garden path of an inch of it. Winter drawers on, or summink.I'm glad you're feeling creative again. There's a couple of unfinished B7 fics on my old hard drive in Word Perfect 6 format which I keep meaning to finish. Not that they're any good, but you know...
Happy January :-)
(sorry if you had two e-mails of this post; I didn't format the strike tag properly.)
