You can now read an excerpt from my soon-to-be-published novel The Never-Ending Sacrifice on the Simon and Schuster website, here.

Also, coming to a newsagent near you real soon now, Star Trek Magazine 20 contains an extract and review, along with other goodies related to some film or other that came out earlier this year. Available early August in the US, mid-August in the UK.

PS Still on my hols and writing this from one of the reception rooms here.

Congratulations on the publishing deal and the PR! If I buy a copy, can I get it signed by the author and auction it off on Ebay for a truckload of money once you're famous?

I like the opening. And the last line of the extract was cheeky ;-)

It's such a hard life. Say hello to Mr. A!

(There's a chapter of P&C in your inbox for when you get back...)

Congratulations! Let's hope for many more.

I'll tell my sister - she's a DS9 fan so she'll be pleased to know another novel is out there.

Hope you are having fab hols! Possibly with ginger beer.

I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the book. The last line of the excerpt made me laugh.

Brilliant! I love the opening to bits, Geleth is an interesting new character -- can't wait to find out more.

Well done! Unfortunately DS9 has been a gap in my education, so I can't really comment on the extract.

A definite gap in your education that should be rectified most promptly :)

Congratulations!

Is this your first ST novel? I've long wondered how one makes that jump . . .

Sweet! I just got my copy of STM #20. I really like that cover - bleak and hopeful all at once.

Eeeeeeee! This is so exciting! Congratulations! I've never read any DS9 fic but I think I know just enough background to enjoy this when it appears.

I've tried to write it so that people unfamiliar with the show would be able to read (whilst not overloading it with expositional material to bore the fan of the show). So hopefully you'd be able to enjoy it - but I agree with [livejournal.com profile] espresso_addict, DS9 is awesome!

I'm really pleased with the cover, I'm a sucker for a post-apocalyptic cityscape.

Thank you!

This is in fact my third ST novel (the others are Hollow Men and the Cardassian novel in this book). As to how I started doing it - I was approached by the editor of the range, who had had my fanfiction recommended to him, and asked to pitch some stories!

Thank you! I'm getting more and more excited as it approaches. I've tried to write it so that people coming to the book with only hazy memories or ideas about DS9 should be able to follow it, so I hope you won't have any trouble with the background.

The last line of the excerpt made me laugh.

*innocent face* Can't wait for you to see it in full.

Our hols were brilliant, although I don't much feel like going back to work. I did clean the house before going away, so at least I wasn't coming home to total chaos.

I'm pleased with how it came out in the end, although it took a lot of fiddling to find the tiny image: there's a lot going on in the picture.

You are fooling no-one with that face. I want to see it in full too!

Sound plan to clean before you went away, and I'm glad the hols were brilliant. Can you ease gently into work?

Sadly no: I have an essay on Doctor Who to finish by the weekend. But [livejournal.com profile] toft_froggy will be here next week (yay!) so I get to bunk off for a bit then.

I still find myself rereading Hollow Men from time to time. It took everything in progress with the Dominion War at that point, and made an entertaining, disturbing murk of it all. Yes, that IS a compliment!
