That Doctor Who thing

I gather a new Doctor has been cast while I've been on Cardassia. Looks fine to me: I liked him a lot in The Ruby in the Smoke, and he's a local boy, so BBC East must be WETTING themselves that they'll have something to report for the next couple of years. Several people have commented about the talky-hand thing, so I'll note instead the shadowy-eye thing, where he dips his head so that the whole area around his eyes goes completely black. Most mysterious, jolly good, carry on with that.

My initial thought was "he looks about 16!!.." But then I remembered that I'd protested to you that Tennant looked ridiculously young for it after Eccleston, and decided I should shut up and reserve judgement.

I have only seen pictures of him so far, where he looks a bit on the youngish side (the Doctor is as old as me! This can't be right!). Maybe I should at last watch this interview, too, to lay my doubts to rest.

Right now, I suspect not. Sometime in the Summer, when the initial fuss has died down a bit, he might be a bit more approachable. I can find out who his agent is easily enough. If they're smart, the organisers of EasterCon and WorldCon are already getting set to invite him.
