This week I have been mostly listening to an exquisite version of the Lennon/McCartney song 'Blackbird', sung in Gaelic by Julie Fowlis.

That's one of Lennon and McCartney's finest compositions. You don't take it on lightly. She handles it with real grace.

It really is a lovely version.

There's a style of female folk singing that I don't like much - singing with a 'twang' - but her voice is the exact opposite.
