A way for creative introverts to express themselves without "being themselves", perhaps?
I don't know about the "creative" part where I'm concerned, lol! But yes, for me I definitely think there was that attractive element of being able to step into the spotlight and become another person. And as that other person, I could be flamboyant and extroverted in a way that was never comfortable when interacting with my peers.
