Ooo...you can get from Charlotte, NC to New York affordably via the budget airline JetBlue. It's like easyJet/RyanAir for the States. You don't get the mad crazy deals you can on easyJet/RyanAir, but it's as cheap as the train, and doesn't take 10 hours.
