The words are... not great, but I thought I'd slam a first draft of something down, let it rest for a while, and then see what it looks like in the New Year or the spring.

I think I may have decided on a couple of pico projects too.

It's fairly lousy, what I'm writing. But I suppose it is there, which is encouraging.

It's not my most accomplished prose, but it's there, and it's coming quickly, and that's such a relief after all the agonizing and slow progress of the past eighteen months. Quality can come in the edit (she hopes!).

I think I'm probably setting myself up to fail on the pico projects, but there's at least one of them I want done before November ends (since it should have been done by the end of October).
