Doctor Who: Boom Town
Aug. 26th, 2006 10:50 pmPoor Egg-Blon.
Mr A's secret favourite in the season. It's a think-piece, about a mid-range band struggling to come to terms with success... oh no, that's Almost Famous. Still, another under-rated episode, mainly because Annette Badland is, like the Democrats, just so funny.
SNIFFLECOUNT: A: 11, Mr A: 9

Date: 2006-08-26 10:45 pm (UTC)I like "Boom Town" quite a bit too, though the pedant in me won't forgive the easily-avoidable deus ex machina. This is Eccleston at his best, but my favorite moment is probably Mickey shouting "It's always gonna be the Doctor, and it's never gonna be me!" as Rose runs away and the world shakes around them.
Apropos of nothing: the journalist's "Sounds like you got here just in time!" is the only Slitheen bodily-noise joke that I object to, and that's just because it's a really weird thing to say to someone you're interviewing.
