So... Alexander Siddig as Hannibal in Hannibal on Sunday night, BBC1 - anyone seen it already? Any good? Worth watching just for easy-on-the-eye-Sid?

Is this an A-team remake?

If so, Sid is terrible casting for the George Peppard role.

I love it when a plan comes together. Why are you in Maidenhead?

If this is the same Hannibal that was aired on German TV very recently, it was rather gruesome. In terms of quality, I mean.

And is it really Shaun "Pete Tyler" Dingwall playing Scipio? For some reason, I find this hilarious.

Cool, can't wait! Damn, I love dodgy historical TV movies, it was all I did the summer after I finished my A-levels.

And it is the same Shaun Dingwall, which is another reason to watch it.

*g*

Then Hanniball should be a film exactly to your taste. :)

I might have liked it (or the parts I did sit through) better, though, if Scipio had turned out to be a time-traveller...

I had to check first. My immediate thought was of Hannibal Lecter, not Hannibal the Carthaginian general.

I've got high hopes, even without time-travelling Scipio, which surely would make anything better.

It's gotta be worth it just for the Sid content - and the fact that you'll get all the jokes when [livejournal.com profile] history_spork roasts it later. :)

Always glad to spread the snark. :)

Ah... If I knew the answer to that, I would know something about our internet service provider...

The ads looked gruesome, but I feel I ought to watch it as a Sidfan. Sadly, my knowledge of the period is insufficient to find the historical gaffes funny. I managed to catch 80% of the recent Poirot Sid was in; unfortunately, he was the murderee, so he only appeared in flashback...

I didn't even know about that Poirot - flashback!Sid better than No Sid, I suppose. I think Hannibal might have plenty of guffaw potential, plus, well - Sid!! And I'm not likely to achieve anything else by that time on a Sunday.

'Cards on the Table': most of the flashbacks were of him snoozing in an armchair, getting stabbed by all the suspects.
