New Books

Hi all. It's been ages since I posted here, not least because I've been writing the following two books! The Baba Yaga is now published; Doctor Who: Royal Blood out in September.

I'm very proud of The Baba Yaga, which, although set in a shared world created by Eric Brown, is my first non TV tie-in novel. It's a space opera about Lovecraftian aliens and people's mums. I'm delighted with how it's come out. And of course I'm always chuffed to get to do a Doctor Who book!

Perilous and Fair: Woman in the Works and Life of JRR Tolkien

I'm extremely proud to have an essay in this collection from the Mythopoeic Society, Perilous and Fair: Women in the Works and Life of JRR Tolkien.

My essay is about fanfiction, and is titled: "Finding Ourselves in the (Un)mapped Lands: Women's Reparative Readings of The Lord of the Rings". You can read a review of the book here [PDF file].
