There's also one of the counties of England that's simply impossible unless you know the exact name of the counties that the quiz is using. (ETA: Apparently these are the "ceremonial counties" created in 1997.)

And one on US state capitals if you're feeling really brave. (A feeble 19 on my first attempt, and I just couldn't remember the state capital of NY although I did my usual trick of remembering the first letter... Gah! For what other reason have I watched so much Law and Order?!)
