I reckon I made these too easy. Anyway, here are the ones nobody got.
6. "What a happy little band we are."It seems I don't talk about
Callan enough in this journal, or just enough to convince readers never to watch it.
Callan, starring Edward Woodward (see icon for picture from the credits and in-joke), was a 1970s drama about a government section set up to do the dirty work (assassinations and so on). Section head Hunter (played by William Squire, the Kommissar in 'Horizon') says this line after it transpires that his staff (three, in total) have all been busily sleeping with each other, betraying each other and, in a fairly radical innovation upon
usual office politics, committing acts of extreme violence towards each other. So yes, very like
Angel, in fact,
stultiloquentia.
10. "Oh marvellous. I'm a cliché."Thought the Who or B7 fans might get this one: it's from
Dark Season, a children's SF drama from the early 90s, written by Russell T. Davies, which had Jackie Pearce as a villain (Miss Pendragon). Oh, a young Kate Winslet starred in it too.
stultiloquentia remembered that the character who says this line delivers it while making good an escape via a ventilation shaft.
Incidentally, the title of the post ("Lines and lines and lines!") was from
The League of Gentlemen.
