Blimey, never had to queue to vote before. How exciting!

No queue for me at about 5.45, but the person I gave a lift to work to this morning was a bit late because she had a queue right out the door of her polling station.

Sounds like you guys are having an exciting election over there.

Funny thing is, this past eleciton in the US was the first time I DIDN'T have to queue.

Of course, when your polling station is a gay church, the results are pretty much a foregone conclusion.

I went fairly late, but did have the impression that the station was slightly more busy than previous years. Let's hope so!

I did a postal vote - considering how much time I spend away from home during the day/night I can never guarantee making it to the polling station... so postal votes can be very handy! :) It's not as exciting as a visit to the polling station though...

Hmmm, I always have to queue, but then I live in Australia, where it's compulsory. And a good thing that is, too.
Not that we really get any better politicians... but at least we get the ones we actually said we preferred...

Wow!

Hmm... I never had to queue but then we always used to land up there pretty early in the day, and there'd be only a couple of others and at leats 3 booths, so life was easy.

What did you do in the queue?:)

Glad your postal vote came through OK. I love turning up to polling stations (and work is sufficiently flexible that I can always make it). It was particularly exciting that we were queuing!

Grumbled about having to queue, of course!

Seems like turnout is up a bit - I'm glad it's managed to get over 60% again, but it's still not great.

Sounds like it must have been a before-work/after-work phenomenon. The turnout isn't massively increased, so far as I can see.

Yeah! I mean why does everyone have to vote?:))

Exactly - it should be stopped!

We may have said something about the weather to the couple in front of us too.

It was pretty much a foregone conclusion that Blair would win with a reduced majority - the questions were by how much the majority would be reduced, and the mechanisms.

The exit polls were spot on this year. But election night is always exciting, regardless whether or not the results are pretty much already known!

The Tories brought in a campaign strategist from your part of the world - Lynton Crosbie.
