Aah, nice. Though judging by that crowded staircase it will be a miracle if some didn't end up married to the wrong people altogether!

Ditto!

That pic of the older couple in the first link is wonderful.

I'm entranced by the last pic on the second page. Quintessential SF in my view.

It's great :-)

Wonderful. Thank you, A. And Happy Valentine's Day to you, too.

That site tells such a beautiful story. I love the way everyone just pitched in to help: being sworn in so they could officiate, acting as witnesses, calling for pizza. It restores my faith in people.

Doesn't it just?

I love this picture of Mayor Newsom,

( here's the pic (http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/object.cgi?object=/chronicle/pictures/2004/02/15/ba_samesex7lm.jpg&paper=chronicle&file=MNGMN51F8Q1.DTL&directory=/c/a/2004/02/15&type=news) )

where he is looking happy as a clam. Not a politician's smile, but one of happiness at other people's happiness. Nice story about how he decided Bush had to be kneed in the groin.

And Newsom is a conservative.

I didn't have the broader political context, thank you. That really is wonderful.

Yes, it was fascinating to learn it was all planned out carefully to challenge Bush's proposed amendment.

Some canny politicians at work.

By all means! I swiped it from someone else's LJ!

(LJ wouldn't show me anything after 9 Feb for a while, so please excuse the late feedback?)

This is a great story. Thanks for sharing. As half a het couple who counts several gay/lesbian couples in her circle and who is sitting in Massachusetts typing, I am hoping we'll be seeing a similar outpouring of love and courage and open-heartedness here soon.

As for welling up, I'm with you!

How frustrating for you!

I'm hoping to see similar pictures from Massachusetts soon too.
