I used the vouchers from redeeming my leftover invite codes to buy myself some more icon space for the next couple of months. We'll treat this is a learning rather than a time-wasting possibility.
I am already graphics addicted, not to mention surrounded by those who gift me with graphics, so I don't look at the extra space so much as an encouragement to waste time as a way to share and giggle over what would be happening anyway.
Sensible policy! I'm having so much fun learning how to put these things together that I think I'm just not going to worry about the time sink. At least, not till the next deadline starts to loom...
(BTW - we are seeing Fairport Convention on Saturday night, yippee!)
Didn't even know one could redeem invite codes in such a manner.
When invite codes became redundant (end of last year?), it was possible to redeem the ones that you still had left for a LiveJournal coupon (I can't remember how I did that now, unfortunately). And then you can use that coupon to pay for various LJ stuff: either the merchandise they have (t-shirts, baseball caps, etc.), or else extra services (more paid time, more icon time).
